This game is really fun. You control a little space ship and as the developers describe it, you:
Deploy your gravity gun and plasma blasts to shatter meteors that hurtle towards your spaceship. Set against a number of sublime backdrops, Meteor Blitz has endless possibilities that keep the game fresh and engaging.
I agree! It has over 30 levels, plus an endless mode, which I love and wish all games would have. When you launch the game it starts with a brief tutorial, but not a boring one that you just read through and forget about, it’s one that you play through so it’s a great inclusion. There are several weapons and different upgrades for them and you select different weapons according to the enemy / asteroid you are up against. The graphics are well designed and you can really get into this little game.
The controllers that you use with your thumbs on either end of your device are really responsive and you have no delay what so ever in getting your ship to react. It is easy to get to grip with the way to maneuver to avoid being crushed, as well as to pick up the rings that are there from your kills.
They suggest that you restart your device after installing, and I think this is good advice, though I didn’t and it worked perfectly for me. They also have a feature of when you lift your thumbs from the device it pauses the game. This is good because the action can get really fast and furious and to take your thumbs off and then press a pause button you would probably loose a life. It did take me by surprise at first and I didn’t realize it was a feature, but I think more similar style of games should do this.
Overall this game is great value for money and you really should try the free version at least so you can see how fun it is. I can’t really think of anything to flaw it, it was easy to start playing and understand how the controls work, they were responsive, and I liked shooting with different weapons and collecting the rings my kills dropped. Oh- and yes, you can listen to your own music
