iPhone – Where’s your connection? How will the addition of other networks affect the iPhone pricing?
When the iPhone first made it’s way to our world, we were given the choice of O2 or ummm O2. So not much choice. Some people saw this as a reason not to get the iPhone, why switch their current carriers, or just that it is maybe a work phone and so had no choice of carriers…
Now we are being spoilt for choice, yet it is really difficult to make a decision. There are prices going up from O2 and Orange, and prices I saw a few days ago at Vodafone have disappeared! Are you going to buy direct from Apple, then decide what network you will go with later? Will you go to an online store like dial a phone and try to look at all the deals? There are currently ‘best contract phone offers‘ but so far we are playing the waiting game.
Also looking at the Apple site doesn’t help that much. The white iPhone 4 didn’t seem to make an appearance, and now if you pre-order the black one the delivery date isn’t going to happen until mid July. So that leaves us with a decision do we try our luck in the shops, when they will probably be busy and we may rush a deal that we potentially sign away 18 months to two years of our lives to!
I’m still not sure what I will buy, the only thing I am certain of is I will get the phone and then (try to) close my bank account to Apple – please no more products that I want to buy!
Are you getting the handset online, from a retailer, from the networks? Are you changing networks? Staying with the same? So many things to decide.
