Addicted..

picture-10The man behind Addict Apps, Ric Morton, has given us a helping hand in this week 5′s ONE MORE BYTE feature.

He has created an app and gone through the process of development to approval. (There is a version you can try for free as well as the paid for app.)

Addict+

He has offered us three tips that are really worth thinking about.  Not the usual commoner garden tips noooooo he’s got the tips that will save you work!

Watch the feature to hear them (or continue reading) heh, we are too kind!

Setting your release date in the future.

Make sure you set your release date well into the future.  If you don’t do this, you may miss out on a chance at featuring in the ‘new apps’ spot on their store.  This is crucial to get folks to see you app.  If you don’t you could easily become buried among apps before anyone has even seen it!

Team up with a graphic designer.

picture-7Just like Tapbots have done. There’s a lot of great apps out there but they look a little more than concepts because they lack the polish of a product that’s had a graphic designer working with them.

Ask yourself a question: Do you need to write an app at all?

If you see what Google’s done with GMail, on mobile safari. They’ve done a really great job of making a fast application using AJAX and streaming the data through the browser.

~ The tips were captured via Skype conversation. Thanks tonnes for your tips Ric! Hopefully this little byte will inspire you to give it a try if you have been thinking about it.
