This week the girls take you through a few apps that will be useful to students / designers as well as a couple of games.

Dev: Dexigner
Hattie found Dexigner which she thought was really useful. It has graphic design content as well as job listings which is a great idea. It’s also a FREE app so a must have for any graphic designers out there. She also pointed out that this is a great app for all you students out there because it has listings of competitions!
SPIDER: The secret of bryce manor
$2.99
Dev: TigerStyleGames
There is now version 1.1 which has 10 new levels and secrets!
Christine looked at the game Spider, which she thinks has such a beautiful design and loves the alternative style of game. You are a spider and you must make webs to catch the bugs, or you will run out of silk and die! By the end of a few levels, Christine actually appreciates spiders just that little bit more
Dev: Spoonjuice
This game might sound more complex then it is… “mind bending space challenge” or “unravel holographic structures of orbs” are some phrases used by the developers of this game. but complicated description or not, this game is a challenge but also relaxing. The really sedate colours, and the intergalactic theme make you carefully consider how you can connect all the orbs. There is a challenge mode- 50 levels of puzzles there, and the Arcade mode has another 50 levels for you! There are 5 worlds to discover, and every game is unique.
I really enjoyed playing this game but I will just note that when I tried it, it was $0.99 which was a total steal! (Not $4.99) This means that it should be carefully considered cause that’s a lot of cash! there is a lot of game play here, and it really does keep you thinking. It also isn’t an ‘impossible’ puzzler, those ones that are so hared to complete they become a little more painful rather than fun!
HTML / CSS CHEET SHEETS
$0.99
Developer: ConcentricSky
Lastly she looked at some CheetSheets, one for HTML and the other for CSS. These are two separate apps and really they would be great to have them combined. The app lists, tags, attributes, events, colours, character sets, ASCII, symbols…
UPDATE in version 2.0: You can write and test your HTML in the app. Great little addition!
~Hope you enjoyed the apps this week and we look forward to seeing you in 2 weeks time! x
