Voice Reminders! (VoCal – The Voice Calendar)

This is great, you do not have to enter in any text. Dream come true for me.

If you have anything you need to remember now instead of having to open your calendar and type in the information taking time, you can just speak the reminder and then set it on the date of your choice.

This suits me perfectly. Normally when I use it, I use this as a quick way to remind myself of things that I need to do, or entries into my diary that I need to make. I will speak it in so it’s quick and then the important ones I will then play back that night and enter into my proper calendar that I sync. This will not replace your calendar but should be seen as a good extension to get info into it quickly.

Quickly record a reminder with your voice.
Set time and date for the reminder to remind you.
Close the app.

That’s it.

You can swipe delete any of your previously entered information which is in their updated version 1.03. They have said the next update they are working on will add repeat reminders as well as being able to choose notification sounds.

You don’t need to keep the app on, it uses push notification to alert you of what you saved earlier.

Negative aspects: I don’t like their icon and wish it would be nicer so I’ve put it on the last page but it is convenient and when I’m having a busy day where I just don’t have a minute to stop it’s a great way to get my information down without having to type it.

Only extra comment I would make is boy oh boy the recording interface needs work. I would love if they got a designer on board. The free version with ads is even worse! The other screens are fine so I’m not sure what went wrong with the recording screen.

   There is a new version 2.0 of VoCal. Its better in so many ways including Local notifications, repeat reminders, choice of alert sounds. Also we hope its prettier with its new revamped retina display graphics Thanks again for the review.

   GVoice has changed my life. The functionality that it offers is amazing, for example the ability to have an out of state area code. If anyone wants an invite let me know. Also I hope that Apple rethinks the Google Voice app, hwo could such an amazing application get denied by Apple?
