FTP On The Go lets you securely log in to your server from anywhere and you can use an iPhone or iPod Touch. This is a must have business app. Here are some features and important things to note.

Some of the top features of this app:

• download your files and there is a built in text editor so you can modify your files on your device right away. It also has a Find and Replace feature which is great when you are using it on a small screen. You then can hit save, and this uploads your changes back to your server.
• change file permissions (CHMOD) on the server to manage your website from anywhere. I loved that it includes this ability.
• view your documents that are on the FTP server: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, and Image files are all supported.
• download and view these documents on your device, or save them to your iPhone to view later.
• Fileshare.  This means you can view and add files on your iPhone from a computer, or even another iPhone.

• upload images from your photo library or take a picture using the iPhone’s camera and upload it immediately right within the program, even resizing the image to fit what you need for your website.
• Bookmarks make it easy to visit all your sites. All the usual operations (create file, create directory, rename file, delete file, move file) are supported.
• advanced features are included, like “Mode Z” support to compress data on-the-fly (a feature that isn’t even in all desktop FTP clients!)

One last great feature to mention is that a master password can be set to protect your server login information. This is a business app that you will keep on your iPhone, it works, it’s thorough and it means that I no loner have to panic and desperately find a computer if I notice something is wrong with my site. It also seems well supported and gets updated when needed.
